Natasha June

On May 24, 2018 LA artist, Natasha June challenged Kristine Hatanaka’s Academy Workshop Art class to divide a sheet of drawing paper into quadrants; draw an object in each quadrant, then figure a way to connect them into one unified composition.

Artist, Natasha June challenged students of Kristine Hatanaka’s AP Art class to do self portraits with charcoal on paper from memory

Students use three unique techniques to draw themselves with from touch memory and eyes closed.

On May 3, 2018 LA artist, Natasha June visited the AP class at Culver City High School (Kristine Hatanaka, Art Teacher) to present samples of her work (natjune.wixsite.com) and to engage students in a challenging exercise. Using a charcoal stick on paper and an eraser stick draw a picture of your hand. It need not be photo-realistically accurate but the drawing must be very detailed. Students were encouraged to use the eraser stick to soften unwanted opaque lines.
