LA fiber artist visited the Sculpture class at Los Angeles High School.
On November 14, 2019 LA fiber artist, Sandra Lauterbach visited the Sculpture class at Los Angeles High School. Students had the opportunity to hear how the artist came from a family who worked in textiles for four generations while making their way from Europe to America.
Sandra calls upon multiple disciplines in her work combining fabric painting, stitching, sewing and digital image manipulation with a mastery equivalent to brushstrokes on canvas.
After her presentation students gathered around three sample artworks to see up close the craftsmanship and embedded narratives in her art.
