Maija Beeton
On October 3, 2018 visual artist, muralist and media producer,
Maija Beeton presented some of her career work to Chloe Palmer’s Period 5 Art class at View Park High School in the Crenshaw District. The students were preparing to embark on designing a group installation with discarded hard cover books and Maija shared some of her experiences leading Public Art works throughout Los Angeles.
The circular image below entitled, “Santa Monica” is a group painting by participants from the Santa Monica College Community made during the 2015 Earth Week Celebration at the invitation of the Santa Monica College Center for Environmental and Urban Studies. The third image is from a public art mural project executed in conjunction with UCLA art students.
Maija brought “Santa Monica” into Ms. Palmer’s Period 5 Art class as a sample artwork.
