Today’s artist visit and the last for the 2019 LA Guest Artist Series term was at View Park High School in the Crenshaw District of South LA

with Susan C Price showing her Memory Boxes to Chloe Palmer’s AP Art class. Susan who has recently been accepted into the TAG Gallery roster and will exhibit paintings at the Muzillion Gallery Exhibition in Guangzhou, China took time to talk about Art and memory to students. Borrowing from the Day of the Dead tradition of honoring the lives of loved ones with personal shrines, Susan painted shoe boxes and filled them with photographic and fabric keepsakes of departed friends and families while sharing short narratives about their lives. Students were intrigued by the types of items Susan chose to represent her most cherished memories of people close to her.
